Rachmaninoff’s Performance Diary

December 31, 2015 by jirving 3 Comments

RachmaninoffThe Performance Diary is a Database of all known performances and recordings by Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff, and is the result of over a decade of research. It gives an unparalleled insight into the intensity of Rachmaninoff’s performing career, and its geographical reach.
In 2006, I gave the research to the Rachmaninoff Society, so that the material would have a permanent and recognisable home, and be free to browse for anyone interested in Rachmaninoff’s extraordinary career.

Hello – I am a Librarian at The Baldwin School, located in the Philadelphia area, in Pennsylvania. I am assisting a student with research about the life of Irina Rachmaninoff, who was a student here in 1919-1920, and also looking for details about a concert given at the School by Rachmaninoff, during Irina’s time here. We only see mention of the concert in the remembrances of Irina’s classmates. I took a look at your Diary, and I see a couple of unnamed Phila performances during the fall 1919-spring 2020 window. Wondering if these might perhaps be our event? If you could direct us toward any leads, we’d very much appreciate the help. I can see that the Library of Congress has a substantial archival collection of Rachmaninoff papers, programs, etc., but unfortunately it has not been digitized, so we would need to conduct the research in person.

I am a fan of Rachmaninoff and I am searching for Cd. I am looking for CDs of rachmaninoff (the interpreter).
My goal is to have all his recordings.
I currently have the 10 CD box set of rca, the 2 CDs of piano rolls (made by Stahkne) and the 3 CD box set of Marston records.
