With reference to SR’s solo recital in Philadelphia on 18 March 1933, I see that the G.Henle Verlag edition of the Prelude in C sharp minor, Op. 3, No. 2, quotes from the reminiscences of Alfred and Katherine Swan (Rachmaninoff, Personal Reminiscences, Part II, in The Musical Quarterly 30 April 1944, pp. 182 f .) to the effect that the composer played his Humoresque and ‘Daisies’ as encores before succumbing to the audience’s appeal for ‘C-sharp minor’, to which he duly yielded, on this occasion. On the strength of this you may wish to add these particulars to the entry for that date on the Performance Diary.
